Frequently Asked Questions

Bridgeport, California.  We are located north of Mammoth Lakes, California & 2 hours south of Reno, Nevada.  We are off of Highway 395 in the Eastern Sierra.

Yes, we offer boat rentals, kayaks & stand-up paddle boards.

No boater license is needed for boat rentals.

We open at the end of April and close at the end of October.  The resort is closed in the winter and doesn't have any amenities available during that time.

Hours of operations: The Boat Docks are open from 6am-4pm.  Store is open 6am-6pm.  We also have a deli and bar, its open daily from 8am-5pm.

Unfortunately, no, we are on a USDA forest service lease, and this doesn't allow us to offer any vehicle storage.

We do not have a sit down and order restaurant, but we do have a Deli offering sandwiches, pizzas and hand scooped ice creams.  We also have a full bar with the best bloody marys around.

Check out is 10am for all guests.  Check in is 3pm for cabins, 12pm or campsites.

Yes, we allow pets on our boats and in the cabins and campsites.  There is a fee for pets in the cabins.

California Dept of Fish and Wildlife stocks the lake every 2 weeks through the season. May, September and October may have fewer stockings. Click on our fish stocking page for more information.

We operate a non-profit, Twin Lakes Trout Foundation that also stocks through the year with 1-2 lb fish and large trophy size trout up to 10 lbs.  Click on fish stocking from the drop down menu or more information.

We accept reservations on our website.  Because this is designed for a campground or motel (not both) it can be tricky.  When you click on the reservations tab, we recommend reading the page before clicking book now.  If you are struggling to navigate the website, please email us at twinlakeresort@yahoo.com

Let us know what you are looking for, cabin or campsite, how many people, how long and in what month.  We can then send you some options.  We do book up a year in advance, so don't wait too long to make your reservation.

The lake is amazing for swimming.  The water is chilly but that helps keep it fresh and clean all season long.  You can ride bikes all around the Lower Lake on South Twin Road, you can also ride bikes on the USFS OHV trail while runs from the resort down to Lower Honeymoon Flat Campground along the Creek.  E Bikes and OHV vehicles are allowed on the property, we ask you follow speed limits, don't disturb guests and keep dust down.

We are at the elevation of 7.126 ft

Power to the resort is supplied by California Edison.  Due to recent wildfires throughout California, SCE may shit off power due to high winds.  They are also working on repairs and upgrades to the electrical system all throughout the state.  While in 2025, we had 5-6 days with no power spread throughout the year, we like people to know this is a rare but possible event.  While it may be inconvenient, it does help protect this amazing place.
