Our mission statement
Our Mission Statement is to build and maintain a premier fishery in the Twin Lakes drainage by stocking trout and advocating to begin the foundation of a self-sustaining fishery.

Fish Fest
Fish Fest is our annual fundraising drive for Twin Lakes Trout Foundation. The only non-profit dedicated to sustainable fisheries, educating youth, and focusing on the future of fishing in the Twin Lakes Area. Click below to find out more.
Twin Lakes Trout Foundation
Stocking -
We have partnered up with Desert Springs Trout Farm out of Oregon and are stocking Rainbow Trout ranging from 1/2 lb to 8+ lb. We are also building our cage culture program. In the Spring of 2022, started our own Aquaculture facility right here at the resort. We look forward to increasing the amount of fish stocked and also creating an area where the public can come to learn more about fish stocking and sustainable fisheries. In 2021 we expanded our stocking areas to include the West Walker River and Robinson Creek. We have had a lot of positive feedback from the public on the results of these efforts. We are currently looking into additional stocking in the backcountry and are working with local businesses and a pack station to achieve this.
Fund Raising -
Each year we raise more than $20,000 to put towards stocking. This has been done by fundraising events, donating at checkout, donation boxes, and obtaining large sponsors. Thank you to everyone for your help and support!
Advocating -
We believe that protecting these beautiful waters is very important. We want to make sure our kids and grandkids, along with yours, can continue to fish these waters for many years to come. We are always working with local agencies to advocate to keep these waters stocked, push back against poachers, educate children and visitors and so much more! Make sure to stop by and check out our hatchery here on lower twin.

There are others also working on stocking in the area. If you are interested in helping out, we suggest you speak to the resort/marina operators about the best way to do so. Below are the contacts for the specific bodies of water. By giving directly to the Businesses and Non-Profits that cover those waters, you will know exactly where your money is being used.

Mono County - Part of the Mono County TOT tax collected on nightly rentals also generates a fund for fish stocking. We want to thank the County for this effort.

Sustainable Fishery
In addition to our fundraising and stocking, we are actively working with DFW to see how we can help build a sustainable fishery for people to enjoy for years to come. This is a very important project for us. We understand the importance of thinking long-term when it comes to protecting these lakes and the area.
